Instagram burnout & new paintings
Most of the time I can appreciate Instagram for what it is and what it does for me and not get sucked into the mindless scrolling, comparisons and desperation for the love hearts, most of the time.
Custom portrait illustrations
I’ve been busy with lots of custom illustration recently which has been fun! I love creating special artworks for people that they will hang on their walls and cherish for years to come :)
Annmarie Gianni tote bag illustration and blog feature
Annmarie Gianni is a natural skincare company dedicated to ethical practices and quality, organic products and every season they hold a tote bag competition open to artists all over the world. I was honoured and super excited to win the Spring 2019 round! Below is my interview taken from their website.

Food Waste Infographic
I really enjoyed doing these water colour illustrations for the food waste infographic. Being aware of how our actions impact the environment is something I'm really passionate about and I hope we can all be more conscious of how our every day behaviours make a profound impact on our planet. People seem to use the earth like it's one of the many disposable, convenient products on the market these days. Something that you can just take from and then dispose of without any thought or consequences. Food waste is a huge problem that we can all easily do a little bit better at.
Keeping a Sketchbook Habit and Giving up the Pencil
The more you practice the more confident you get with your line and your ability to trust your hand eye coordination. And of course mistakes happen, but learning to embrace mistakes is a good thing to do. In art and in life. I also realised soon after giving up the pencil that, even though the drawings are a bit wonky and even a little dodgy at times, I love the result more, the drawings end up looking more spontaneous and authentic, which is what I strive for. Again, in art and in life. ;) Also, it's just a bloody sketch book after all, may as well give 'er!
Abstract Painting Party!
It doesn’t matter if the Museum of Modern Art isn’t knocking on our door; we will carry on in the direction of our desire. We can start just where we are - with a blank piece of paper, a pencil, and a mind open to all possibilities.” -Cat Bennett from The Confident Creative, Drawing to Free the Hand and Mind.
